Launched on last March, Integrated Habitat Design Competition (IHDC) 2012 Conference, Public Exhibition & VIP Awards Ceremony, Natural History Museum, London, is going to be held next October 15th. This year subject is “Ecosystem Services come to Town. Adapting to Climate Change by Working with Nature”. Our towns and cities face numerous complex challenges – overheating, surface water management, air and water pollution, loss of biodiversity and green space. The IHDC 2012 Conference on 15th October discusses ways and means to work with nature and integrate an ecosystem services approach to the design of the built environment.
The event is also the UK launch of the UN City Biodiversity Outlook Report (http://www.cbd.int/authorities/cbo1.shtml).
